BARE FOOT vs. HORSESHOES
NOT A CHOICE.....
BUT A DECISION
based on informed evaluation!

Never to be one to sit on old ideas, Martin Kenny has always been progressive in the way he thinks about caring for horse's feet.

Catching flack for stepping outside the box, is nothing new here...
so it should come of no surprise that...
WE ARE AT IT AGAIN!!!!

With over 36 years as a farrier with clients at the top of their game, Martin D. Kenny C.J.F.  R.J.F. H.R.S. has focused his business on helping the 21st century equestrian achieve the utmost in performance out of their horses; as well as returning the acute and chronically lame horse to soundness. This requires using what ever means is needed to get the most out of his client's horses.

That doesn't happen by following the pack!

Kenny says, "You don't stay in this business for this long, by being stagnant. You MUST ALWAYS be looking for better ways of doing things. In the present economy, that's even more important than ever. Horses are an expensive endeavor, so I want to always be providing the most cost effective means of earning the trust my clients have placed in me."

As the first Hoof Redevelopment Specialist in the world, Martin has had over 6 years of consistent positive results providing hoof therapy for horses.

That only happens by constantly evaluating the way things are working, and not being afraid to change (when needed)
 to adapt today's protocol to
THE NEEDS OF YOUR HORSE
AS HE/SHE CHANGES...
be that from changes in environment, age,
competition changes,or injury.

Below  is just a short list of things that hoof therapy has helped turn around, by using the highly technical skills that ONLY a Hoof Redevelopment Specialist is capable of performing.

So if your horse NEEDS shoes, or just a different approach with the way his feet are being trimmed,
Let us assist you in making that INFORMED decision.

Score your own horse and make certain you have his hooves in the best possible condition to limit down time with lameness as well as receive the best possible performance.

Interested in articles Martin Kenny has had published? Click here for the one he wrote for the January/February 2008 copy of the Amercian Farriers Journal on using Physics instead of Geometry when shoeing horses.
Click here to read the first of three articles published in the American Farriers Journal in 2009 It is on how the hoof capsule distorts.
Clcik here to read the second 2009 article in the AFJ. This is a recent study done on how the nail location plays a role in the distoriton of the hoof capsule.
This final 2009 AFJ article discusses the way the foot surface of the shoe affects the way the energy is transfered up the wall of the hoof capsule, and how the design commonly used may be at the root to many of the issues we deal wtih each day.
The Hoof Redevelopment Center is a place where OTHER FARRIERS TAKE THEIR PERSONAL HORSES FOR ASSISTANCE to get assistance with their feet!!! Heel problems are perhaps the most prevalent condition seen by farriers in today's sport horses of all disciplines. Even if the condition is not causing actual lameness, it limits your horse's ability to perform at his maximum potential. I have developed trimming and shoeing protocols that re-establish the (normal) hoof capsule alignment so that the stresses of loading and thrusting are "In Balance" rather than causing deterioration of the heel area.

Interested in seeing if your horse can withstand the rigors of competition BARE FOOT? Contact us and we will evaluate your horse's specific situation and HELP YOU develop a plan, bare foot or shod!
